Grey Wolf Story Cafe: with Special Guest Darren Hoskins

Join us on Tuesday 14th May for the fifth outing of the Grey Wolf Story Cafe.

This month host and storyteller Marcus Pibworth will be joined by Darren Hoskins, shepherd, storyteller (and ex escapologist!).

Along with his excellent stories, Darren will be bringing along a special treat - one of his Crankie Box creations - a form of storytelling that mixes puppetry, animation and… recycled cardboard boxes!

So expect a night of magical myths and tantalising tales from Marcus and Darren, on an evening out quite unlike any other.

Meet the tellers:

Darren Hoskins mixes folk stories, life stories, lies and jokes, with a unique energy and style influenced by his time in circus, theatre and cabaret.

He co-runs “Oh Crumbs” spoken word cabaret and “Jolters” Comedy nights in the Forest of Dean and winner of The Bard of Gloucester Chair. During lockdown he found “crankie box” storytelling on the internet, that mixes recycled cardboard box puppetry and animation and now he’s taking them out in the world…

Marcus Pibworth is a storyteller, poet, father and seeker of quiet places based in the foothills of the Black Mountains working with stories to entertain, explore the wonder of the world and create change.

He is performance storyteller and also runs applied storytelling workshops and retreats in the beautiful surroundings of rural Herefordshire.Over the past few years, he has created and toured a number of well received story telling shows. When he is not telling in a professional capacity he spends most of his time telling stories to his 3-year-old daughter Freyja and baby Harmony.
